ASCA - Nationals at West Bend

The "Aussie" nationals at West Bend, Wisconsin 2003. 100's of Australian Shephards from all over.
For those not familiar with Aussies, No two are alike in looks, or personality. They are "extremely" athletic dogs. Big teeth considering dogs size, and very strong. They were bred for both herding ability (nearly as agile, and at least as intelligent as a Border Collie), and guarding ability (Very quick, very athletic, very loyal). A Male can wheigh from roughly 50-80 pounds, females usually smaller. Temperments can vary widely. They aren't a dog for the meek. A friend of mine had one (only 1/2 Aussie) and it ate the entire family Christmas presents, and the pulled the shrubery he had just planted from the ground. The second one we had "Bandit" chewed through table legs (2inch) and tried to eat trees. He climbed "Baby Gates" we had to keep him from mischief, when he was very, very young. These are not a dog to leave in an apartment all day and forget about. Many purchase them and return them to breeders. Some breeders will not sell them unless a person is aware of traits, or has previously owned. They are amazing and great friends.
