Jansport " 1975 K2 Expedition " Mountain Dome Tent

Wenathcee, Wash.

This tent was designed for the " Ill-fated" attempt on K2 in 1975 as Jim and Lou Whitaker had a big say on what Jansport should do in making their tents. In the 70's , Juim and Lou were under Jansport Contract and used everything Jansport made. This tent has " Snow Flaps" along the bases to pile rocks and snow on and help keep the tent on the ground instead of a " Kite". Dome has two " Roof Vents" that look like portholes and a snow entrance in the back. Poles are solid fiberglass which were the standard in mid 70's, but quite heavy and
" Not" shockcorded. If you lose one of the 18 poles, the frame is going to suffer.. Great old " Retro Tent" and photo was taken with a 1975 camera. ( Ricoh SLR) Photo shown here at Mountain Air Sports Were some of my gear is displayed.

Hey Monte, Lone Wolf here. I just bought a Jansport dome on EBAY & thought I'd browse on the wider net as I did promise to show up at the kickoff with a green trail wedge; should never had given mine away! If I fail I'll bring this yellow,black & red one with a snow tunnel & large vestable. If I do find one I'd gladly pass the old white wedge on to you for historical preservation.
