Czech Wiki tells us that: Josef Boleslav Pecka (19 September 1849 - 25 July 1897, Chicago) was a
journalist and poet, representative of the first generation of working-class writers associated with
the establishment of the Social Democratic Party. In 1878 he co-founded the Czechoslovakian social
democratic party. He was jailed several times; In 1885 he emigrated to the USA, where he evolved from
anarchism to moderate socialism.
