We opted to cut across the Iveragh Peninsula (via Glencar and Ballaghbeama Gap) and drove around the east side of Lough Caragh.
This was a view point on a hairpin turn that looks down upon what historical maps call out as Caragh Lodge.
Off in the distance, are the Slieve Mish Mountains on the Dingle Peninsula.
