At the crossroads we chose north, and ended up on one of the highest plateaus in the county. The windchill was about minus 30 degrees, drifting snow and frozen skin, fading light and a fascinating inversion in the distance.... I laid on the road for this one, near an Amish farm... and asked my companion honk if she saw a vehicle approaching... fortunately none did on these desolate yet magnificent lands.
