Grand Canyon 2183

The Watchtower, Grand Canyon, Arizona, USA

The plaque beneath the telescope reads:

CAMERA FANS

This is a quality telescope and is equal to a 1750 mm telephoto lense [sic}.

--Instructions--

Focus telescope to your eye place camera up to eyepiece and --take picture--.

I wonder how long that scope has been there and how many photos were taken through it. Moreover, I wonder how well those photos turned out, especially since between the telescope and the canyon is a thick piece of glass or acrylic that has scratches, fly specks, finger- and nose-prints, etc.

Afraid not. There was a slight technical problem: trying to fit a 72mm diameter lens into the eyepiece. :-)
