I found this beast on my driveway, moving quite lethargically.
I know enough to keep a safe distance, but I'm not sure what it is. Can you tell me, please?

Hi Earl,

Thanks for your comment on my wild turkey photo. This insect is a fly, Order Diptera. I think it is a horse fly, possibly in the genus Tabanus.
