Hawk Moth

My Back Yard, Sugar Land Texas

I had a huge Pink Spotted Hawk Moth stop by the patio for a drink and a sip off the Moon Lilies this morning.
Here it was resting on the wet patio pavement for a few moments before flying off.
Wingspan was 4 - 5 inches, about 12 cm

I love these moths. Although not native to our state, we occasionally get the treat of seeing them during the Summer. This one posed really nicely for you to clearly capture its colors & markings. Very nice photo.

Awesome! Nice find and shot. I don't think that one comes up this far north.
