April 6th

Galveston Island, Texas

Oosterschelde at the Galveston Tall Ship Festival today.
Took a vacation day to volunteer for the Historical Society who was hosting.
But, they ended up with plenty of volunteers, so I got to spend the day enjoying the event instead.

The Oosterschelde is a three-masted schooner from the Netherlands, built in 1918. She is the largest restored Dutch
freightship and the only remaining Dutch three-masted topsail schooner. Her home port is Rotterdam.

Win-win. I am however amazed that they were still building those in 1918. ESPECIALLY in 1918. You framed this one really well.

I never knew Galveston had a tall ship festival and since I always wanted to go to one, that is good to know. I love your straight on perspective with excellent color and contrast. Nice emphasis of its height and length both. ~BV~
