Kodachrome

Utah

Kodachrome State Park is 12 miles south of Utah Route 12, and 20 miles southeast of Bryce Canyon National Park.
The color and beauty found here prompted a National Geographic Society expedition to name the area Kodachrome, after the popular color film, in 1948.

Breathtaking capture. The layers of color and terrain are superbly captured. V

I had wondered about the name; I knew that "Kodak" was a completely invented word so it didn't seem likely or even possible that it coincidentally came from another source. It was just odd that the area didn't already have a name by then though looking at it... yeah, maybe not the most hospitable place on Earth.
I do like the way that the nearly completely flat foreground leads to that uplift that seems to just come out of nowhere. The car down the road helps put some scale to it.

Great shot, and your processing is very effective. V

It's a shame that Kodachrome 64 is no more, it was a fine film but no longer economically viable as it required specialised lab processing. This area looks very beautiful and I can imagine it would look superb in Kodachrome film.
