January 28

Sugar Land, Texas

Early Morning Walker and Fountain
A photo taken from my car as I sat waiting for a traffic light.
I liked the backlighting, so I de-saturated the colors to make the lighting more obvious.

That is excellent. Amazing capture from a car. I like the silhouette. The monochrome really does make the light pop. V

Yes, I think you made the right call. This one is all about the shape and I think that the solid darkness of the striding woman plays off very nicely against the more diffuse whiteness of the fountain. The timing is also just right; it works best with her positioned not dead centre of the main jet but about a third off (and in mid stride), and the combination of them about a third of the way into the frame. (With the stone gateway about a third of the way from the right as an added bonus.) I don't always follow the rule of thirds but this is an example of it being very effective in balancing an image.

Well timed, and I like the presentation of this candid moment.
