Gum Tree Circle No 4

The artwork that I am trying to emulate is the ink outline with a water colour fill. I am no artist so if I have this description wrong then: “Oh well no never mind” And, because it’s a white gum tree I want it very white.

So, to produce some ink edges I guess, is the first step.

Get the original colour photo and torture it a bit.

Shadows / Highlight
Brightness/Contrast
Hue /Saturation
Poster Edges
Find edges
Gradient Map, and bingo we:

End up with the image above, Gum Tree Circle No 4. It’s the stripped down edges only.
