March 20/04

I can't stop playing with my new lighting setup! This image was produced by using just the two, 20W halogen lights and a flashlight with a pink Cokin gel filter held in front of it. The background was a silver piece of poster paper. I used 100 ISO, f5.1 and a shutter of 2 seconds.

I just loved the way the fake ice cubes (I found these at a Michael's store for cheap!) and pearls picked up the color of the light! The shadows of the "buildings" were my daughter's creative invention as she was on flashlight detail!

You can see more of these ice cube shots HERE.

Very cool effect. Were all of them done with different gel filters over the flashlight? I'm going to have to make this lightbox thing someday. Such a perfect table top studio.

You certainly are gaining successful results with that lighting!! Isn't it fun, when you find something that you really like, to just keep experimenting? Love the colors here! You and your daughter are making quite a team!
