Diwali

Diwali or Deepavali is an Indian Festival of Lights. The Sanskrit word Deepavali means an array of lights that stands for victory of good over evil, and uplifting of spiritual darkness. 'Thamasoma Jyothirgamaya' (lead me from darkness to light). There is no room for Thamas (darkness) in the presence of Jyothi (light). The lamp of wisdom dispels the darkness of ignorance. There are several beliefs regarding the origin of this holiday. The most accepted version is… Hindus celebrate Diwali to mark the time when Lord Rama achieved victory over Ravana. Fireworks are always associated with this festival. The day is celebrated with people lighting diyas, candles all around their house. On the day of Diwali, many wear new clothes, share sweets and snacks. Here is the link to last years Diwali pictures...< https://pbase.com/lux_20/happydiwali
