Could do better

23 September 2005

512
With my head about to explode I decided to flee the home in search of some rest and relaxation with my D70. I put on the 50mm lens and made my way to Kingoodie to try some long exposures. Here's a tip to myself. The next time I decide to try this, I ought to read the manual first and learn how to set the white balance manually; a torch would be a good idea too; most importantly, however, make sure that the battery is not just about to die on me after three exposures. Oh, and non-slip shoes would also be useful. Next time I'll make sure that I do all of these things. Until then, however, you'll have to make do with this.

I gave you a more colourful image last year (was that a year ago!)

I look forward to your better day then as this is pretty awesome in its own right. GMV

Logistical regression!? O la la. I hope the context helps on that one! Somehow I doubt you're talking about Tony Blair and Iraq. Very nice, quagmire-y shot, this. Very fitting.

Very moody blue. I like it.

Wow, love the blue tones and mood in this one! Vote for sure!

Nice effect, don't bother with the manual, they never make any sense in any language.

Great shot. Lovely detail in the rocks.

I've just been watching Midsomer Murders and that was spooky too!
Your shot is aptly titled :) What sort of crop is that to
be standing in water?
Buz Kiefer24-Sep-2005 10:04
LOL. Sorry you had so many difficulties but the shot was worth it. Very nice image.

I think this is just superb. It is very eerie. Of course, I am LOL at your commentary. You can empathise with me I'm sure, when the other day I tried to climb a hill in nurse's clogs to get the utlimate barn photo and lost both shoes in the brush. And the photo ended up in the recycle bin. In that case the batteries should have died and saved me the trouble. :)

very eerie! I like the toning

It works though! had a similar experience when I went out to do this, still I think you need to go through it :) can always tweak the colour balance in the RAW software?

Beautiful tones!! I like it a lot!

Spooky is a good title for this one - I can imagine a creature lurking in those reeds.... watching us..... waiting...

good one Stu!!

I love the tones in this, but today is SP Friday and you could have shown yur head exploding.

Great toning!

I like the duotone presentation. Glad the lack of non-slip shoes did not end up as a personal (or camera) injury ;) Have a great weekend. I hope you get some time off!

Don't tell me you are logistically regressed, that would be hyperbolic metaphysical crap.
