Under a wave of light

Tonight was one of those special moments of light. The sun was just at the right height to catch this fast moving low cloud and give it, it's orange gift. As you can see the higher clouds are blocked by another bank of clouds so they have a post sunset color of grey and blue.

This moment I witnessed reminds me of surfing videos when the surfer passes thru a tunnel and the wave passes over the camera man who is now under water and you see the wave as the life of the ocean sees it. It was moving that fast too. Within 3 or 5 minutes this wave of light was at the other end of town still holding together as one band of light.

No altering of colors either. The strong reflection of color in the car windows was also as seen.

Wow, this is an awe-inspiring sight! You captured it perfectly against the dark shadows. Like a cloud river. Thanks for leading me to your picture. I love to cloud watch. Voted.

James, we saw this too!! I live in Cedar Bluff... suddenly this orange-pink glow came through my white sheer curtains and the whole earth and sky had the same color-cast. It was amazing. Got some photos of it I'm getting ready to post, but yours is fantastic.

This is wonderful James and had to be close to the same moment I saw of this extraordinary sunset but from a different angle. Lucky you; you had a camera and mine was at home.
