Glamour Dixie

Tonight a little practice with the glamour look. Can cats have a glamour look?

Anyway this was worked up in Adobe Camera Raw, then cropped to get the eyes into the upper right power point.

Created a second layer (ctrl+j)
To the original layer I used USM @ 250, .3, 0
To the new layer I did a gausian blur at like 4 or 6 pixels.
Then added a very slight amount of the glow filter
Then to the new top layer I used the eraser set to a very soft brush stroke and removed some of the top layer of blur and glow to reveal the sharp eyes underneath. Then used the opacity slider for that layer till it showed the amount of sharpness in the underneath layer that I wanted.

Last year at this time I had a slam dunk.

Canon EOS 20D ,Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM
1/125s f/1.4 at 50.0mm iso800 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

As Dixie's Mom...I can say this is the best picture of her ever taken. I love it!!!
Thanks Honey :)

Awesome image and great editing. My only beef with it is that the transition from soft to hard focus is a bit too abrupt to the right of her right eye (to our left). She looks like a very beautiful cat. Thanks for sharing.
