Well today, for the first day of Summer, I drove about 50 miles to the Foothills Parkway. This small scenic road gets some of the best unobstructed views of a Summer sunset. So for the longest day of the year I thought I would have a go at it.
Well this image was taken about 8:00 P.M. long before the sun set. There were clouds rolling in and it just wasn't going to happen for me. Oh well. I got to carry out my manditory summer tradition of driving everywhere all day with the windows down, playing the full box set of Led-Zeppelin as loud as I can and ofcourse seeing the sunset on the first day of summer.
And now a moment with one of my favorite Led Zeppelin songs, and for some reason it reminds me of summers growing up (once I started dating).
TANGERINE
Measuring a summer's day
I only find it slips away to grey
The hours, they bring me pain
Tangerine, tangerine
Living reflections from a dream
I was her love, she was my queen
And now a thousand years between
Thinking how it used to be
Does she still remember times like these
To think of us again
And I do
(Guitar Solo)
Tangerine, tangerine
Living reflections from a dream
I was her love, she was my queen
And now a thousand years between
