This scene is from Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Taken during sunset, when the shadows are long and the saturation is high.
The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is one of America's most visited national parks and is a treasure of East Tennessee and Western North Carolina. I never tire of visiting this park. Even though I do get aggriavted with people from Alabama and Ohio who have never seen a deer before and stop in the middle of the, one way, one lane road, get out there camera and slowly shuffle the family together for a family photo with the deer, instead of just pulling off the road to do that and allow others who have seen a deer before to pass freely! Ok rant over :) During the summer and fall peak season in the park the Cades Cove 11 mile one way loop takes about 3 hours to drive, because of this. It is VERY annoying for folks who are there not to drive the loop but to get to the many beautiful hiking trails that have trail heads off of the loop.
