UTK Torchbearer

Yes this is a shot I have done before (Nov/2003). But it is one of those places/things that you could photograph a hundred times and get something different each time. And I will keep photographing it till I feel that I have gotten it right!

An interesting feature of this statue is the gas torch that runs year round. It gives you a different shot everytime since with longer exposures it is your primary light source and depending on the way the wind is blowing it will determine how much light or shadow is present on the statue itself. So truely no two shots are alike.

I have more images of the torchbearer in my University of Tennessee gallery. http://www.pbase.com/lundy/univ_of_tennessee

I ofcourse have alternates here. http://www.pbase.com/lundy/image/39823626 and a black and white here http://www.pbase.com/lundy/image/39823864
