This pub was owned by Ron Revley and his wife in the 70's though to the early 2000's. It was a fantastic pub back in the eighties, much more character than it has today. My grandfather was a regular and played darts in the local league. It was one of the last places which sold AK mild until the EU stopped it. There was a public bar, saloon bar and a snug at the back which was seldom used. It was mainly a drinking establishment when it was owned by Ron who was a true gentleman. They had a serving hatch in the wall behind the brick columns in the photograph, Ron's wife used to sell us kids chocolates, crisps and coke. You could always smell the beer and smoke coming from the bar. Pure magic....long gone but never forgotten.

Thanks for the memory I'd forgotten old Horrace. We lived around the corner as children and used to go to the 'hatch' on Friday nights to get lemonade and chocolate driving Hirrace nuts with our indecisive lists 😊

This brings back memories my dad used to entertain at the bay view and before that the Rose and CRown. Horace owned both and had the bay view built after he left the sheppey club. My dad's name was Bob but most people knew him as "Bones" Happy memories I still have a caravan on Little Groves. I have been going there since I was a baby and recall many of the photos which are great. well done
