There was never a Priory, the Priory camp site was once Priory farm, so named as the farm belonged to the Priory of Canterbury many moons ago and rented to tenant farmers. This cottage was once used as a cafe and they just called it Priory tearooms for a while.

In the 1950s, my Sister and I were snt to Leysdown on hoiday each year with the Sunday School. My vague memory tells me that the priory played a part in these holidays. I wonder if there is any info on this?
