I was born in the middle bungalow. My family started, owned and run central beach camp. I had such a great childhood growing up there, with the camp and beach to myself during the winter. Thanks Paul Davis.

hello, found your lovely pictures Kenny and delighted to see the one named central beach pioneer camps, the bungalow next to the tent camp was where my family rented soon after the war andwe were allowed to join in the family day sports while we were staying there, the train used to run from sheerness into laysdown and my older brothers got rides on the engine before it went back to sheerness,i was about 7 or 8 then I think now 75, I have a photo of myself sitting outside the bungalow with an uncle, what wonderfull times we had cockling thick black mud up to my knees and the awfull smell of them cooking in a bucket on the stove, my mother then bought a chalet at harts camp and we went there every year, I have just come back from a few days at harts but will not be returning there again THE HART HAS GONE OUT OF HARTS such a shame so looking for somewhere to rest my old bones next time I visit from Suffolk, I have such happy memories of my childhood in laysdown harts shop and the people who owned the site used to keep greyhounds and I used to walk them everyday up the road towards shellness,my older siblings danced in the evenings on an old wooden dance floor next to the rose and crown, ooooh I could write a book about it all lovely jubley. june.

Hi
I worked at Leysdown Holiday Camp in 1970. I also worked at Warner Brothers Holiday Camp in 1976. If you have any pictures relating to these camps I would of course be interested in viewing them. Regards
