Remember Mum telling when I was older we lived Jefferson Road , that it was flooded. We had to stay at my Godmother house which was quite big and had many steps, when my Mum and Dad returned the carpets were damaged , I was-at the time 2 years old. Lesley Miller, 10 Jefferson where I lived at time.

I lived in Jefferson rd,and we had no damp,and i was told the water never come down jefferson it whent the other way down unity ect,

They are evacuating Mrs Austin who owned the shop just across the road from us. The head sticking out of the window on the left of the picture belongs I think to Johnny Gell whose family lived there.

Those houses were never the same again. I lived in Jefferson Rd, and our house suffered from damp ever after the flood.
