This is a photo of our house first on the left. I shall never forget that terrifying night when water poured in the letter box and halfway up the staircase. My mother kept saying don't worry the army will save us. Unfortunately the army never came but the water did stop. I was 10 years old at the time. I am now living in Adelaide S Australia but remember very happy childhood times on the Isle of Sheppey.
