Hi, I wonder if anyone connected to Harty could help me with my family tree research. My relative Walter John Spain returned from ww1 to Harty. We are not sure why as his wife was with family in Faversham at the time? The address on his discharge papers was 4 Church Cottages. Anyone any idea please where exactly this might be or is so I can visit the area. Thank you so much.mLaurence

Hello Trevor,what a nice surprise to find your great site.My mother died November 2013 three weeks before her 100 th birthday. Her name was Ivy Mary Dines.her parents were William dines mothers name Emma.Bill Dines was a farm labourer.working on steam traction engines. Sadly she was the last of her family.Three sisters four brothers.We lived in a bungalow at Caple Hill at one time.My father and his partner had a tyre valconising shop on the high street.Moved to London in 1949.If any one has any news on this subject.

The farm is still there.

hey jan, my family on my mums side originated back well into 1800,s and had some connection to a farm possibly Elliots farm, name of Dines

Hi Nice to see these photos, my family lived on a farm in harty, and would be wonderful if anyone should have phots of anyone who can remember this family.
The persons name was edward love and my greattfather lived with this family for a while his name was victor fracois hann.
He went on to have a small butchers shop and a news agents in eastchurch
