the conservatory of flowers finally re-opened yesterday after being closed for decades. golden gate park's grand 19th century victorian nursery stands above the dahlia garden. i overheard one of the gardner's tending the dahlias say that this garden of pure dahlias has been grown there since 1922. September 21, 2003.

Patrick, you have captured the hues, textures and heat of this magnificent conservatory. I can almost smell the flowers and feel the steamy air. And was that glipse of black I saw Queen Victoria? Thanks for sharing the beauty you found with your artist's eye.
