The Red Buttes Wilderness

The Red Buttes Wilderness is the most northern wilderness in California, and the Pacific Crest Trail passes through it on it's way to Canada. It is rich in rare plants, rare minerals, solitude, adventure, great views, and it's in my backyard. I first hiked here in 1976 on the PCT from Seiad Valley to Ashland.

Glad someone knows how to take a good picture. You have got the juice. Can't wait to get to that section. A hiking dog! Lucky hound. Mine would run away. Not too smart.

In 2004 and 2005 I lived near Grants Pass and enjoyed multiple adventures in Red Buttes. Seeing these so makes me want to go back - what a beautiful place. Thanks!
