It was a long time ambition which the wife and I had nursed...but had not the time nor the wherewithal....nor did we know what to look out for! So, when a tour was offered with the theme "Hunting the Aurora Borealis" within the Arctic Circle in the far north of Norway we jumped at the chance and coincidentally had reason to celebrate as we were passing our 48th wedding anniversary!!
As it turned out, the Cruise Director we had on board was a very hardwprking person and he would signal us at any time of the night when there was even the remotest chance of the Aurora appearing...as an experience, the first time we saw the lights was awesome but so were the other occasions and we are very happy to have been so lucky...cold though it might have been and sleepy though we were....!! :D
