We spent a week in Syria and started with a tour of the city of Aleppo. We also spent a few days at a campsite in the capital, Damascus. Alcohol was very hard to come by, although we did manage to get our hands on some wine, which tasted that bad, that even I didn't finish the bottle! Whilst in Syria we visited the vast ruins in Palmyra and watched the beautiful sunset from the castle. One evening, Cyril and I encountered a mad taxi driver that took over an hour to get us back to the campsite (which was only 10 minutes away!)
