Looking northwest at Abyss Canyon (left) and Negro Bill Canyon (right center). The trailhead
of the latter is barely discernible in the distance. Abyss Canyon joins Negro Bill Canyon
at the dark green vegetation just above my pack. At that junction, Negro Bill Canyon turns
to the right (east). Everything on the far side of the river is Arches National Park.
This vantage point is at the center of this WikiMapia aerial view.
My camera was supported in style---as always---by Joe Tripod, my photographic
assistant in the field. He is unmoved by fins and canyons, which is nice.
