Trying in vain to achieve Enlightenment by becoming One with the Sandstone

Sand Flats Recreation Area (Moab, Utah) view map

One of the disadvantages of getting older is a gradual weakening of memory. I was victim to this shortcoming here. As I am wont to do, I attempted a Union with Sandstone in order to reach a higher plane of existence. It was an uphill battle that led only to frustration, as I could not get beyond the insignificant level known as "Acquaintance with Sandstone" no matter how hard I concentrated.

Then I remembered something from "Sacred Paths to Oneness," a lengthy philosophical treatise written by His Holiness The Bhagwan Windbag of Antelope. On page 1348 he states that advancement to higher planes of awareness is often dependent upon posture and slope. Of course! The sandstone I'm lying on is channeling its psychic energy downward, to the apex of the parabola formed by the two walls. My position is a major impediment to Oneness, as the focused energy needs to flow through one's body. The next photo shows a more fruitful attempt.

My assistant---Joe Tripod---supported my camera for this photo.
He is familiar with parabolas but prefers triangles.

Larry, if it is any consolation, I will now admit that I do not take any of these pictures. I travel with a professional photographer who does the work for me. He tells me when and how to pose. I just do as he says. The landscape is of no interest to me whatsoever. Please keep this to yourself.

Incredible, perfect photography. Nice going, Joe.
Dave, all your photos are superb. You make it look so easy.
I could go to Moab and come back with not one usable photo.

There are many paths to Enlightenment, some easier than others. No pain, no gain.

Dave-I have found that a nice glass of scotch or bailey's beats heck out of this hokey enlightenment crap.

I hear you can pick up used parabolas for a paradigm.
