Enlightenment arrives after I assumed the proper position in relation to the parabola

Sand Flats Recreation Area (Moab, Utah) view map

The previous photo documents my frustrating attempt to achieve Oneness with Sandstone by lying against the wall to the right. The angle of the rock prevented a Union, so I tried again here, at the apex of the parabola formed by the walls. Once I meditated at the parabolic apex, Oneness was achieved, although the experience was somewhat tainted because I sat not on the rock but on sand. I am still learning.

This is a stream channel that flows to a precipice above Abyss Canyon. The preciipice, about 50 feet behind me, is at the top of a sheer drop-off that could easily facilitate a transition to the afterlife.

My photographic assistant (Joe Tripod) held my camera for this photo. His mission statement exempts him from working on any portion of a parabola. He was standing in a simple curved portion of the stream channel.

Good old humble Joe. Think you could ever raise his pay
so he could get his own Pbase account? After all, Dave, he
sticks his neck out for you.

Long, I found it, but fulfillment was brief. Life is a series of attempts at Enlightenment. I soldier on, grateful that I discovered the wonderful qualities of Moabian sandstone.

Dave, Did you find what you were looking for after meditation?

You should listen to Joe. He knows the sound of "one-hand clapping."

Ironically I seek Seek Enlightenment by trying NOT to become one with sandstone as I assume the proper position in relation to the other end of the parabola.

Gary, a demonstration on your part would help the learning process.

I'm pretty sure you're supposed to do this naked.

I think we're already over the edge.
