Mike, Joe is fully functional and highly disciplined (he has to be to put up with me). He and I subscribe to the photographic theory of natural selection: over time, the best instruments of support will predominate. I do not believe in obstructing the laws of nature (unless doing so benefits me). The world would be a better place with many little Joes around, whether on the Ponderosa or in Moab.

I see that Joe Tripod has not been neutered. Don't you think this would be a good idea if you're going to let him run around loose like this?

Monopods are born, not made. Tell Jane to focus on her support role; if she doesn't respond, it might be time to send her on a one-way trip to the Asylum for Frustrated or Misguided Tripods.

Jane's run off to get a saw. I think I better stop letting here look at the computer over my shoulder. Oh well, maybe the pain and humiliation will slap some sense into her. Gotta go now, sensitivity training.

Joe asked me to say that he appreciates Jane's offer, but must decline, as he in a relationship with a monopod.

Jane Tripod would like to know if Joe needs a massage.
