At the end of the salt flats access road the asphalt fades into dirt, which fades into salt. During
the speed events of August, September, and October, this bit of land is busy. The dark stuff on the
salt is fireworks trash left by inconsiderate cretins. The low mountain on the horizon at center is
Floating Island ( http://www.pbase.com/listorama/2004ut_floating ), twelve miles (19km) away.
