A beautiful sunrise greeted me in the morning after car-camping at the northeast end
of the Silver Island Mountains. This was the perfect way to start a day dedicated to
exploring Cobb Peak's lower slopes. The dark mountain range at right is the
Newfoundland Mountains; the lighter range behind it is the Hogup Mountains.
Joe Tripod, who assists me in the field, stood motionless
for this shot, unmoved by the beauty of the scene.
