Chapel of enlightenment?

West Wendover, Nevada view map

People of certain philosophies seek enlightenment by pressing themselves against poker tables or slot machines. In the Peppermill Casino and similar establishments in Wendover I saw many such attempts to reach a higher level of consciousness. Based on the facial expressions I observed, I can say with certainty that some patrons were in a trance. Whether they were enlightened was impossible to tell.

The lower "billboard" of this sign is one of those programmed devices that displays all sorts of colors and messages at a rapid pace---a real eye-catcher. This photo was taken in the upper back portion of the parking lot; most cars and trucks were parked out of view to the right.

Did you learn that money is a weighty subject?

I only went to a casino once. My wallet was enlightened.

Steve, I won nothing: although I gambol, I never gamble.

Did you win anything? I hear Joe is a real steadying influence for you--something that might come in handy in a poker game.
