Looking northwest at Shafer Trail

Colorado River, below Shafer Trail, Utah

Looking northwest from the the mouth of the "stream" canyon, on the rock bench. From here I
will angle to the right, walking on the bench at the base of a cliff (a wall of the river
canyon). Shafer Trail runs through the picture on the cliff straight ahead, on the rock
layer marked with little yellow dots (visible in the large and original size images).

Note the gradient of the light-colored talus slope at left: easy to ascend.
At this point I was close to making The Fateful Decision.
