The lightbox enables me to see the images on the strips of negatives. I use it for reviewing slides too. The magnifying glass is for reading the frame numbers on the strips of film to ensure that the negatives are in the proper order; it's also good for a quick look at images. The loupe provides a detailed view of any one image; it should, considering its cost!
Barely visible at right is another, equally important tool: the mouse that made the file-updating possible. That updating is managed in a huge file in Microsoft Word (over 400 pages and counting). Did I mention the tool of the century?---the computer and monitor that supports all of it.
