Looking east (upstream). Pyramid Butte stands in the center. In the distance
are the La Sal Mountains. The greenery along the banks of the river is mostly
tamarisk (salt cedar) trees. Tamarisk is an invasive species that has infested
all the rivers of the Southwest, to the detriment of the riparian ecosystems.
