During a trike ride to the Ak-Chin casino in Maricopa I got delayed by an eastbound Union Pacific freight train (moving from right to left). For a very short portion of the ride I was on a sidewalk to avoid the relatively heavy traffic on this road (SR 347). The blurry freight car looks like a center-beam flatcar loaded with lumber.
This wait, which should have lasted about a minute at the most, stretched out to almost 25 minutes because of the loading-and-unloading antics of a westbound AMTRAK train out of view to the left. The Maricopa AMTRAK station acts as the "Phoenix station."
