My goal was to reach the greenery in the distance and see what was beyond that. The walls were too steep to descend. The only way to reach the greenery was to walk along the reddish band at left. It worked, allowing me to reach a pour-off with a nice view of Culvert Canyon. The terrain visible through the gap is the north end of Amasa Back. This looks southwest on the "4922 plateau."
