Gold Bar Tower is just below the horizon, on a vertical line at the center of the image. It is a mile away, but the wide-angle lens setting makes the distance seem greater.
Thanks. There is an interesting story behind the pictures I took that day. When I transferred them to my netbook computer I noticed that the colors were off---badly off. Every image shot that day had a terrible greenish/pinkish tone. Somehow my camera’s white balance setting had been changed to “fluorescent lighting.” (I disavow any knowledge of having done that.) To correct the problem I had to play around with the color controls in Lightroom and only got this sort-of-passable result. The six other photos in the gallery look all right because they are from an earlier trip.
