This is part of what once was the Tucker Rest Area on US 6, about seven miles west
of Soldier Summit, Utah. In the summer of 2009 it was completely obliterated during
construction of a new alignment of the highway. The huge cottonwood trees are gone.
The stream is in a culvert. Everything you see here is now buried under about
20 feet (6 m) of dirt. Damn highway engineers!

It was a pleasant place to stop and rest. It had a restroom building and picnic tables.
But it was situated in the middle of a blind S-curve on a two-lane highway, making it a
challenge for motorists to pull in safely. It was difficult for big vehicles to get in and
out. It was replaced by a new rest area called Tie Fork, about two miles west of here.
