Red-bellied Pitta at UP-Diliman

A sighting of this colorful (but tough to find) ground-forager at the Diliman campus of the University of the Philippines sent several of us members of the
Philippine Bird Photography Forum scambling to photo-document the bird. The shooting condition was among the worst I've shot in - a light rain was falling, light is
very low under the canopy and swarms of mosquitoes harassed us non-stop. But we got some documentary shots, and that's enough to keep certified birdnuts happy for a while. :)

Scientific name - Pitta erythrogaster

Habitat - Forages on the ground in a variety of habitats from scrub to virgin forest, usually below 1000 m.
