Tambo Mudflats (January 9 & 12, 2005)

A raptor was added to my life list, as I continue to hunt the Siberian Rubythroat without success. Thanks to James McCarthy who accompanied me on the 12th, I became familiar with the SRT's call, and even saw it on the ground three times. Unfortunately, the vegetation was too dense and the bird was moving too fast to be captured by the 20D. Has the SRT become my "bogey bird?" Well, only time can tell, as I won't stop looking for it until it returns to its breeding home in Siberia in April or May. All pics in this gallery were captured with the 20D + 400 5.6L + Tamron 1.4x TC.
