Being currently very busy on some matters, I haven't birded for over two months now. So, when I was passing through Subic rainforest today (May 23rd),
I took advantage of the rare opportunity and took some potshots at Blue-tailed Bee-eaters along the road...:)

Thanks for looking at my galleries, Robert. Both bee-eater species are residents in our islands.

May I refer you to the website of the Wild Birds Club of the Philippines (WBCP, of which I'm a member) for more info on Philippine birds?

Hello,

Just wondering: are the two bee-eater (the pictured Blue-throated and the more common Blue-tailed here on the mainland) species year-round residents; or are they winter visitors/migrants? I ask because I do much bird migration research in Thailand/Malaysia and have studied the migration of these two species in both countries.

Similarly, when do the Chinese Sparrowhawks and Grey-faced Buzzards arrive in the Philippines in the autumn? They reach central, eastern Thailand in mid-August (Sparrowhawks) and late September (Grey-faced Buzzards).
