The endemic subspecies of the Oriental Honeybuzzard

Fatbirder's Top 1000 Birding Websites

I revisited Quezon National Park this November 17th to check if the Rufous Hornbills are still around. I was able to photograph some of them three years ago,
but visits to the area by fellow birdshooters since then turned out no sighting. I'm very happy to find out they made it and are still there!
I saw a couple of these birds, and for the first time heard their hair-raising call - a very loud "kaaawww." I managed to get some record shots of one of the hornbills.
More detailed captures of the endemic subspecies of the Oriental Honeybuzzard, both perched and in flight, made this visit a fruitful one.
