It was our first visit (together with Nilo Arribas) at Candaba Swamp, Pampanga, Philippines.

By the shadow of Mt. Arayat, the avian gods smiled at us by allowing us to approach and photograph several families of this smallest duck-like bird in the country.

Scientific name - Tachybaptus ruficollis
Habitat - Uncommon, in freshwater ponds or marshes. Dives when disturbed by intruders.
