It was a rainy Tuesday afternoon, this July the 5th, here in Zambales, Philippines. As I drove my car along a road around Masinloc Bay, I saw a Brahminy Kite (Haliastur indus) fishing along the coast. I grabbed my 20D + 400 5.6L and followed the Fisher-Kite through my viewfinder.

Light was the worst it could be, but I managed to capture a very interesting sight - the Kite caught a fish and went on to eat its lunch in mid-air, while soaring against the wind. This is the first time I saw this happen, all along I thought this raptor has to perch first to eat its meal. If only I caught this handsome bird in better light ...
